127 Hours (2010)

Penasaran dengan film 127 Hours? Film yang menceritakan seorang petualang ini ternyata bukanlah film sembarangan yang bisa ditonton. Pasalnya Aron Ralston si tokoh utama yang kisah nyatanya diangkat ke dalam film tersebut menyarankan untuk tetap bernapas teratur ketika ia melakukan adegan mengamputasi tangannya sendiri.

Aron Ralston, si petualang yang diperankan oleh James Franco dalam film garapan Danny Boyle ini mengatakan kepada The Sun bahwa ia telah menggunakan teknik mengontrol pernapasan dan tetap tenang ketika ia memotong lengannya sendiri yang terjepit saat jatuh dan terperangkap di sebuah lembah terisolasi di Utah, Amerika Serikat.

Ia menambahkan bahwa ia “tersenyum” melalui pengalamannya karena rasa sakit itu tidak “relevan”, karena ia tahu hanya itu satu-satunya cara untuk bisa bergabung kembali dengan keluarganya.

Dilansir DigitalSpy, Ralston berkata, “Saya bernapas dengan cara itu. Mirip seperti cara latihan melahirkan bayi secara alami. Bukannya takut untuk melakukannya. Ketika saya memotong tangan saya tersebut, saya menutup mata.”

Wajar saja jika Ralston menyarankan penontonnya untuk tetap bernapas secara teratur, karena dikabarkan banyak penonton yang pingsan selama menonton adegan amputasi tersebut. “Orang-orang pingsan karena mereka tidak bernapas, mereka berhenti. Itulah mengapa mereka pingsan,” jelasnya.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Setelah sukses dengan The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe di tahun 2005 dan dilanjutkan dengan The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian pada 2008. Walden Media bersama 20th Century Fox yang mengambil alih produksi The Chronicles of Narnia dari tangan Walt Disney Pictures, akhirnya  merilis film ketiga dari seri The Chronicles of Narnia dengan judul The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Setelah petualangan terakhir Pensive bersaudara di Narnia, kisah berlanjut dengan dua tokoh utama sebagai fokus film ini. Edmund Pevensie (Skandar Keynes) dan Lucy Pevensie (Georgie Henley). Keduanya harus tinggal bersama di rumah pamannya di Inggris bersama sepupunya Eustace Scrubb (Will Poulter).

Petualangan bermula saat sebuah lukisan di sebuah kamar membawa ketiga saudara ini kembali ke Narnia. Eustace yang tidak percaya dengan dongeng harus menerima kenyataan bahwa dirinya sedang di sebuah negeri yang belum pernah dibayangkan sebelumnya. Bertiga mereka akhirnya diselamatkan oleh Caspian (Ben Barnes), yang saat itu telah menjadi raja dari Narnia.

Edmund dan Lucy yang sangat senang bisa kembali ke Narnia akhirnya harus kembali berpetualang bersama Caspian untuk menyelamatkan Narnia dari sebuah kekuatan magis yang mengancam kerajaan itu. Dengan sebuah kapal  warisan sang ayah, The Dawn Treader, mereka mencari tujuh bangsawan yang membawa tujuh pedang untuk dikumpulkan dan diletakkan di meja Aslan agar kekuatan jahat bisa dikalahkan.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader memang tidak sekompleks dua film terdahulunya. Michael Apted yang menggantikan posisi Andrew Adamson sebagai sutradara membuat cerita The Voyage of the Dawn Treader lebih sederhana dan ringan. Penggambaran Narnia kali ini lebih banyak pada kapal The Dawn Treader yang mengarungi luasnya lautan Narnia untuk mencari tujuh pedang dan mendatangi negeri Aslan.

Walau kehadiran Peter Pevensie (William Moseley) dan Susan Pevensie (Anna Popplewell) hanya sebagai cameo di sini, tidak mengurangi ketegangan serta aksi petualangan yang seru dan  menguji kekuatan mental serta rasa persahabatan para awak The Dawn Treader. Jika Anda penasaran dengan petualangan di Narnia jangan sampai lewatkan The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Dalam masa yang setara dengan 1.300 tahun Narnia itu banyak hal telah yang berubah. Narnia yang sebelumnya berada dalam puncak kejayaannya sekarang berada di bawah tirani Raja Miraz yang merebut kekuasaan dari tangan Pangeran Caspian.

Raja Miraz yang membunuh ayah Pangeran Caspian masih merasa terancam dengan masih hidupnya sang pangeran. Ia berencana untuk menghabisi Pangeran Caspian agar tahta yang ia pegang nanti akan jatuh ke tangan anaknya. Untungnya Pangeran Caspian berhasil meloloskan diri dan bergabung dengan para makhluk dan binatang yang hidup dalam persembunyian.

Dengan bantuan para makhluk itu, Pangeran Caspian membangun tentara untuk menghadapi tentara Raja Miraz yang terkenal kejam. Walaupun pada awalnya, pasukan Pangeran Caspian sempat mengalami kekalahan karena kesalahan strategi, namun dengan bantuan Peter, Susan, Edmund, dan Lucy angin segar kini berada di pihak Pangeran Caspian.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - Film ini bercerita tentang empat orang anak bersaudara Peter (Skandar Keynes), Susan (Anna Popplewell) , Edmund (William Moseley) dan Lucy (Georgie Henley) di masa Perang Dunia II. Selama perang berlangsung mereka terpaksa harus mengungsi ke rumah Profesor Kirke (Jim Broadbent) yang terletak di sebuah desa terpencil. Rumah Profesor Kirke berupa sebuah puri yang sangat besar.

Suatu ketika saat mereka bermain petak umpet, tanpa sengaja Lucy bersembunyi dalam sebuah lemari baju yang ternyata merupakan sebuah portal ke dunia lain yaitu dunia Narnia. Saat Lucy menyibakkan baju-baju yang tergantung di lemari tersebut, di kejauhan Lucy melihat sebuah tiang lampu dan kemudian Lucypun masuk dan bertemu dengan Tumnus (James McAvoy), makhluk setengah manusia setengah kambing. Tumnus kemudian menjelaskan bahwa kini ia berada di Narnia, negeri yang "selalu mengalami musim dingin tetapi tidak pernah ada Natal" gara-gara ulah si Penyihir Putih, Jadis (Tilda Swinton). Negeri Narnia ditempati oleh binatang-binatang buas yang dapat berbicara, manusia kerdil, manusia berbadan kuda, dan raksasa yang dikutuk menjadi es oleh seorang penyihir jahat bernama Jadis (Tilda Swinton). Belakangan diketahui bahwa Jadis ingin menguasai Narnia untuk selama-lamanya dengan menurunkan kutukan salju abadi yang menyelimuti dunia itu.

Setelah beberapa jam, Lucy kembali ke ruang lemari pakaian dan anehnya saat ia keluar dari lemari tersebut, Peter baru saja selesai menghitung. Kemudian Lucy menceritakan pengalamannya tersebut yang tentu saja mereka tidak percaya.

Akhirnya mereka berempat masuk ke dalam lemari portal tersebut dan mengunjungi tempat Tumus. Namun mereka hanya mendapati rumah Tumnus dalam keadaaan berantakan dan mereka menemukan selebaran yang menjelaskan bahwa Tumnus ditangkap oleh polisi penyihir karena dianggap berkhianat telah menolong Lucy.

Mereka kemudian bertemu dengan berang-berang yang menjelaskan apa yang sebenarnya terjadi di Narnia. Kedatangan mereka berempat ternyata sudah diramalkan dalam sebuah syair kuno. Aslan (Liam Neeson), sang Singa penguasa tertinggi negeri Narnia, juga dikabarkan telah muncul kembali untuk menghadapi si penyihir.

Bernama dengan Aslan, mereka pun bersama-sama melawan kekuatan jahat Penyihir Putih Jadis. Akankah Peter, Susan, Edmund dan Lucy dapat menumpas Jadis dan menghilangkan kutukan itu dari Narnia?

Final Fantasy VII: Last Order

Cerita ini berawal 5 tahun sebelum sebelum kisah Final Fantasy VII dimuali. Saat itu perusahhan Shin-Ra mendapat peringatan untuk mengedakan penyelidikan penyelidikan di Reaktor Mako di Nibelheim, yang mengatakan bahwa monster aneh telah muncul dari reaktor, muncul di seluruh kota kecil di sekitar. Shin-Ra Company had been alerted to an investigation at the Mako Reactor in Nibelheim, saying that strange monsters have been coming from the reactor, appearing throughout the small town. Shin-Ra had assigned two First Class SOLDIERS to the operation, Sephiroth, who was known as a hero of his day, and Zack, a spirited youth who was strong enough to become a First Class SOLDIER. Among the two SOLDIERS was a Shin-Ra guard named Cloud Strife, whose hometown was Nibelheim. When they arrived at the town, a young girl named Tifa would guide them through the mountains to the Nibelheim Reactor. Cloud once knew Tifa from years back, when he lived in the town, and he promised her that he would rescue her whenever she was in trouble or a bind. He told her he was leaving the town to join First Class SOLDIER as well. Cloud, however, never made First Class, yet only became a Shin-Ra guard. Ashamed of not becoming what he promised Tifa, he hid his face with his Shin-Ra helmet.

When Zack and Sephiroth enter the Nibelheim Mako Reactor, the mysterious monsters are discovered to be humans, used as experiments, soaked and overly exposed to Mako substance. Professor Hojo of the Shin-Ra Company had placed these science specimens in several pods inside the Mako Reactor. Setelah hampir 10 tahun bekerja sebagai pengantar surat di New York Tribune, Gulliver (Jack Black) akhirnya keluar dari kantor gelapnya itu untuk meliput kisah perjalanan ke Bermuda. Awal pertemuan Guliver dan bangsa Liliput memang tidak baik, namun akhirnya Guliver menjadi pahlawan para Lilliputians.

Rob Letterman yang bertindak sebagai nahkoda film membuat Gulliver's Travels menjadi sebuah tontonan yang ringan dan menghibur. Tidak dibutuhkan konsentrasi tinggi untuk mencerna film yang diadaptasi dari novel karya Jonathan Swift dengan judul yang sama pada tahun 1726.
  
Kekonyolan ala Jack Black masih terlihat jelas lewat aksi-aksinya. Salah satunya adalah ketika Gulliver memadamkan api yang membakar istana raja Liliput dengan menggunakan air seninya. Kisah asmara antara Princess Mary (Emily Blunt) dan Horatio (Jason Segel) yang sesama bangsa Liliput pun sedikit mewarnai petualangan Guliver di pulau itu.

Kisah film ini berfokus pada sosok perempuan muda bernama Deu (JeeJa Yanin), seorang gadis cantik pemberani yang konon tidak pernah merasakan rasanya cinta sejati. Saat sedang gundah berjalan sendirian, sekelompok orang menculiknya untuk dijadikan pelacur. Di saat itulah seorang pemuda asing datang menolongnya. Pemuda bernama Sanim (David Bueno) itu rupanya membuat Deu jatuh cinta. Sanim sendiri memiliki masa lalu pahit dengan geng yang menculik Deu.

Demi menjaga diri, Deu pun meminta Sanim untuk mengajarinya ilmu silat khas Thai. Walau tingkahnya mengesalkan, Sanim mau mengajari Deu ilmu beladiri yang sewaktu-waktu dapat digunakan bila kawanan penculik datang lagi. Rupanya ilmu silat yang diajarkan Sanim dengan teman-temannya bukan hanya sulit namun juga berpadu dengan ilmu breakdance yang sempat tren di kalangan anak muda tahun 80-an.

Siang-malam Deu berlatih keras dengan gemblengan Sanim cs. Deu dan Sanim bertekad untuk membongkar jaringan penculik wanita yang telah banyak memakan korban itu.
