Just got it in the mail yesterday. I got event photos in there from Hippy Killer Hoedown, Viva Las Vegas 13 and Born Free 2. Check it out their website. Working on another feature for them coming up soon.

Viva Las Vegas 13 Weekend Part 4

Last of the posts for Viva Las Vegas 13. Thank you to all again who came to the booth and hope to see you next year.

Ray's Whirlwind Trip

This is Liz, Mark's wife... I wanted to write a little bit on my Pop, Ray Castaneda. Sometimes I think my Dad still thinks he's as young as us. Within a 16 hour time period, my Dad, who is 74, drove solo over 500 miles round trip to support Mark and I at the VLV Car Show.

My Dad left Murrieta, CA at 3:30 a.m., arrived in Las Vegas, NV at 8:30 a.m., visited us at the Joyrides booth, walked the Viva car show, had a hot dog with me, purchased an old school hat he had been looking for, gambled $300 on slots then called me and said he was leaving so he'd get home before dark. He left Vegas at 3:30 p.m. and was back home in Murrieta, CA at 8:30 p.m. Now that is just absolute craziness! It was as if he roared in like one of the hot rods and in a puff of smoke, he was gone! Now that's true love for me his daughter to make a day run to Vegas. I hope I have that much endurance when I'm 74....actually I know I will, it's in my genes. Thanks Pop for the visit and the beer, you rule.

Viva Las Vegas 13 Weekend Part 3

Some of the cars I shot at the show. Didn't shoot much as I was working the booth most of the day with Liz. I will post more later.

Viva Las Vegas 13 Weekend Part 2

We got up and out to the show around 7:30 in the morning to set up. We had a pretty good spot and the weather was perfect.
Ready for business.
I finally got to meet some of the people I submit work to. This is Barb, publisher Geno DiPol and Editor Alan Mayes of Car Kulture Deluxe and Ol Skool Rodz.
My two homies from Vegas, Nate and Jeff. It was great seeing the two. Jeff invited us to go out after the show for Hawaiian BBQ but we were too tired to do anything afterwards. Jeff we will have to catch up next time we are up there. Hopefully you two make it out for the Born Free show in June.
It was really cool to see people who visited our booth from two years ago at the last Viva show we were at and seek us out again to buy more stuff. This is Alexis and Robert. They got married at the last show and were back again. It was good to see them. Thank you guys for coming to see us.
Sorry about the photo. If you still want it let me know. We'll figure something out.
They just got married that day.
Young Joyrides Art Co. supporters.
Matt and Kevin also were at our booth the last time we were there. Thanks guys for the support.
Death Machine supporter.

Viva Las Vegas 13 Weekend Part 1

Liz and I drove out on Thursday for the show. We were looking forward to making the trip out to Vegas and enjoy the 3 day Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend show. We packed the van with Joyrides goodies and hit the road.
Took us a little over 5 hours to get here. Traffic on the 60 Fwy sucked. Stopped in Barstow and then made it in.
Show was at The Orleans Hotel. Bigger and better than before.
That night Liz was on a mission to get her boot.
Hung out at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere. Liz drank her boot while I enjoyed so good ol' PBR.

Gambled later that night. My big winnings and all I could afford late nite snack. Check back tomorrow to see some of the supporters who stopped by..
