Fushimi Inari Shrine is best known for its 1300 orange torii gates.
The shrine honors the twin deities of agriculture and business, which means it is always packed.
In addition, it means that the small black lettering you see on the gates are from individual sponsors, each of whom pays for the advertisement.
The area is also good for hiking. A trail wends its way from Fushimi Inari to Tofukuji Temple, a bit farther north.
Admission is free.
