Animated type gets a move on

When Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press in 1440, movable type became the vehicle for modern-day communication. Nearly 600 years later, from the quirky to the commercial, type is still moving—just in ways that Gutenberg probably never dreamed of. Here are some fantastic videos featuring animated (or moving) typography.

In Marion Bataille's brilliant pop-up book, ABC3D, reciting the alphabet is fun for kids of all ages.

Another animated alphabet—this one by Alessandro Novelli—that showcases initial caps from various typefaces. The Quorum "Q" is just lovely.

Impact lives up to it's name in this fabulous voice-over/animated parody of a horrendously misspelled gamer review. The voices are pretty good and so's the type.
